Go Diego Go Party Invitations
Our Diego’s Biggest Rescue invites should do the trick! The front features Diego and a running zebra, while the back has spaces for you to write the party details. Slide them into the cobalt blue envelopes, and pop them in the mail! Make the invitations unique and personalized for your birthday boy’s party by:
- Using a bright yellow or green pen on the cobalt blue envelope.
- Getting cat paw, hoof, and/or dino foot stamp and stamping a trail of animal prints around the envelope.
- Hand delivering the envelopes, and attaching each invitation to a plastic jungle animal toy figurine.
Go Diego Go Party Decorations
It’s time to set the jungle scene with these ideas:
- Begin outside with giant animal prints on your front lawn. Create cat paw, hoof, and dino foot stencils out of poster board, and spray paint them trailing through the front yard leading up to the front door. Don’t forget Diego’s Biggest Rescue balloons for the mailbox!
- Inside, begin setting the scene by transforming your ceiling into a jungle canopy. Cover the ceiling with lush jungle gossamer, and hang brown streamers to look like vines.
- Cover one wall with more jungle leaf gossamer, and create lots of fan and fern leaves out of green butcher paper to add leafy texture to the walls and the ceiling.
- Cover the furniture in the room with zebra, cheetah, and reptile fabrics.
- Cover each table with an aqua blue or yellow tablecover. For centerpieces, create tropical floral arrangements using lilies, orchids, birds of paradise, and alstromeria.
Go Diego Go Party Food
Keep the adventure-seekers fueled for action with these food ideas:
- Give a nod to Diego’s Latino heritage with a nacho bar! Let each child build his or her own plate of nachos, providing a bevy of toppings, including: chicken, beef, pork, tofu, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa, queso, guacamole, peppers, onions, beans, sour cream, cilantro, and more.
- For snacks, add some adventurous foods to the spread, like: snake eye grapes, ant raisins, gummy worms, crocodile teeth cheese triangles, and cinnamon-sugar elephant ears. Be sure to use menu cards to label each food option.
- To drink, keep the kiddos hydrated with tropical fruit-flavored water. Mix up a pitcher of spa water featuring pineapple chunks, lemon and lime wedges, and mango slices. Also serve a brightly colored punch!
Go Diego Go Party Activities
Keep the party momentum going with one adventure after another, taking a cue from these ideas:
- As the kids arrive, equip them with everything they need for an animal rescue adventure. Sew a simple orange Rescue Pack satchel bag for each party-goer, and fill it with our Go Diego Go drink bottle, magnifying glass, and pencils.
- If you can, a great idea for this party is to reach out to your local zoo or animal rehabilitation center to see if they can come to the party and do an animal presentation for the kids. The kids will love seeing the animals up-close, learning from the presenter, and maybe even getting to touch or handle some of the critters.
- Lastly, a Go Diego Go party calls for an adventure-filled scavenger hunt. At the beginning, tell the kids that there’s a nest of dinosaur babies that must be rescued! Send them all over hunting clues and performing challenges along the way. For example, the kids must swing on a vine (rope) over a river (kiddie pool), go spelunking through a cave (crawl under a low-clearance sheet), and outrun a herd of elephants (a game of tag). At the end, make a “dino nest” from twigs, and put Diego’s Biggest Rescue Dinosaur Favors in it. Let each child have one of the dinos as a prize.
