Care Bears have been popular since the 80s, so this is a tried-and-true party that guests of all ages will appreciate. Our latest Care Bears party theme is a modern take on the childhood classic and features Wish Bear, Share Bear, Oopsy Bear, Grumpy Bear, and Funshine Bear. The adorable bears are featured with a rainbow, clouds, and a splash of stars to make for a dreamy party theme that leaves lots of room for creativity.

Read on for our Care Bears party ideas, and then check out our Care Bears party supplies to get your party planning started.

Care Bears Party Decor

Transform your party space into the Care Bears home land, the Kingdom of Caring. Make the room dreamy by hanging tissue paper pom poms from the ceiling and letting white helium balloons float to the ceiling to look like puffy, white clouds. Cover one of the walls with rainbow gossamer, and cover one of the windows with strips of tulle in rainbow colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet.

Next, add some Care Bears party decorations into the mix! Cover each table with a Care Bears Happy Day Paper Tablecover, and use the Care Bears Happy Day Centerpiece on half of the tables. On the other half of the tables, use plush Care Bears stuffed toys for centerpieces. Blow up helium balloons, tie them with ribbons, and tie the ribbons to the paws of the centerpiece bears.

Care Bears Food & Drink

Keep the kids happy and bellies full with these beary fun treats:

  • Make a platter of peanut butter sandwiches cut with bear-shaped cookie cutters. Swap out different jelly flavors, honey, and marshmallow fluff for the fillings.
  • Veggies are much more enticing when arranged like a rainbow! Make a crudite platter with tomatoes, carrots, yellow bell peppers, broccoli, and radishes shaped like the rainbow. Use cauliflower for clouds, and serve the veggies with a side of dip.
  • Make rainbow fruit skewers with red raspberries, oranges, pineapples, kiwi, blueberries, and purple grapes.
  • For the cake, bake a layered rainbow cake, with each layer as a color of the rainbow. Ice the cake white and sprinkle the top with rainbow jimmies.
  • For other sweets, the kids will love white cloud-like cotton candy and a candy bar featuring colorful rainbow candies.

Care Bears Activities

Kick off the party activities with a craft project, and have each child decorate his or her own “belly badge.” Give each child a plain white paper plate and have them decorate the back side with markers, crayons, glitter, sequins, and more. Once the children are done with their plates, punch a hole in each side of the plate use elastics with metal ends in each hole so the kids can wear the belly badges over their shirts!

Next, get everyone moving with a game of musical clouds. This is played just like musical chairs, but dress each chair up with white batting so they’re cloud-like. Use the Care Bears theme song for the music, which can be found on Youtube.

For another party game, play Pin the Belly Badge on Cheer Bear (or the Care Bear of your choice). To do this, before the party you’ll need to outline a simple Care Bear shape on a piece of poster board. Then, use clip art to print the bear’s belly badge shape on white paper — you’ll need enough for each guest to have one. Cut a circle around each shape to look like belly badges and put a piece of double-sided tape on the back of each belly badge. The game is then played just like Pin the Tail on the Donkey, so each guest will be blindfolded, spun in a circle, and then try to tape the badge closest to the belly of the bear.
